Busy little bees

We have been soo busy lately! And the funny thing is I cannot tell you exactly what we have been doing. lol There has been a lot of wedding planning going on. I am so excited about everything! We have the venue, ceremony site, officiant, photographer and caterer all booked! After we got all of those ducks in a row for the same date I felt a huge sense of relief, like I could really start to enjoy the small stuff! We went dress shopping this weekend and I am happy to announce I have it narrowed down to a style, color and fabric that I would like. I am having my dress made, I feel SOOOO lucky that I get to do this. Talk about special! My own dress made for my body.... needless to say I am SO EXCITED! My bridesmaids and I went to lunch and shopping on Saturyday and just had the best time! I have the best group of gals standing by me! I have an idea on colors and flowers that I would like. So I feel like everything is on track for the most part! The next stresser I can feel creeping in are the invitations.... I just don't know what way I want to go with them..... fancy? formal? fun? HELP!
Updates on other things besides wedding jazz, we are all fighting a little cold right now :( Brody is in the heat of his, mine is just starting, hopefully I can catch it before its too bad, and PJ's is just lingering. We are using our jogging stroller around 3 times a week, and I am thinking I can tell a little bit of a difference in my tummy area, YAY :) And of course as always I have been cooking up a storm. My soon to be sister in law stayed with us Friday and Saturday night and we had a blast! We made a delish spinach salad, homemade pizza and then for dessert homemade ice cream with blueberries! Yummy right!? Hopefully I will get some food pictures up soon... because who does not like to look at food!? In the meantime we hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the almost spring like weather :)

Routine

It has been awhile since I have posted. I am not sure why but lately I have just not been able to find the motivation.... but at the same time not lots has happened since I posted last. We have been in our same routine, which I find completely comforting (its the cancer, astrological sign, in me). Oh! We did buy a jogging stroller for V-day! We thought what a good present for the whole fam. All 3 of us get to use it. And best of all, we have been running together! It has been great :) I can see this habit sticking with us. Which I am so excited about!! I have always heard that couples who play together stay together. So I thought it would be a good way for us to start connecting. Plus it sets a good example for Brody with being active. We are trying to start a healthier life. Baby steps friends.... all in the baby steps :)

Pork Taquitos... I mean Flautas?

We had pulled pork for the super bowl last night and decided that we should leave the BBQ sauce off so we could do several meals with the shredded pork. And let me tell you I have a huge Tupperware full in the freezer for future meals! Which I am SO excited about! It is always nice to know there is something in the freezer to whip up :) Anyways without further Ade....
Pork Flauta/Taquito thingies :)

These were super DELISH! We will for sure be making these again. I used a variation of this recipe.... Shredded Beef and Cheddar Flautas from For the Love of Cooking. This is one of my new favorite blogs! Some of the recipes seem a little complicated but for the most part they are simple with everyday ingredients. These were so rich (plus I added a homemade guacamole) that I really only needed to eat one! The fresh cilantro added just the perfect bit of brightness these needed. The only thing I would have done differently is added some shredded veggies. PJ would not have been happy with that call but these were so heavy I feel that they needed a little lightness and brightness from pepper, shredded zucchini, carrots? I mean I love adding veggies to everything and anything so any veggie is welcome at this party :)

Snow Day!

We were all home today due to the 14 inches of snow we got! So basically our day looked like this...
Brody helping me with some laundry :)

Getting ready to hit the hill!
The sled track. PJ had to go down by himself to create a path since the snow was so deep!
Bubs and da dad!
I like this one!
Someone wanted more sledding!

Some veggies sauteing to add to my bowl of chili!

And this at the end of a great day :) Hope everyone enjoyed their day as much as I did!

Quick Post

Pork chops on the stove, twice baked potatoes and asparagus in the oven and LOTS and LOTS of beautiful snow on the ground! I hope everyone is at home safe, sound and warm with their loved ones! Cheers :)
